WHAT DO GENES® TESTS CONSIST OF?

Through the use of advanced technologies, GeneS® tests allow us to obtain “new information” useful for developing personalized pathways aimed at restoring a person’s health.

“Precision medicine,” which means treating the patient with what their organism scientifically needs, has enormously expanded the predictive and intervention possibilities for the treatment of disorders and conditions.

Starting from certain scientific data, instead of the symptomology of classical medicine, allows for the development of targeted interventions through suggestions in terms of behavior, diet, and a personalized NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL supplementation program.

All this results in obtaining the maximum benefit in the shortest possible time.

GeneS tests are substantially divided into 3 categories:

  • Microbiota analysis of various districts at a cost of € 228.00.
  • Salivary genetic analysis at a cost of € 239.00.
  • Salivary hormonal analysis from € 149.00 to € 175.00 depending on the analysis selected.

Each analysis includes:

  • Delivery of the sampling kit to your home.
  • Collection of your sample wherever you prefer.
  • Email delivery of the report with analysis results, dietary suggestions on foods to include, reduce, and avoid, behavioral suggestions, and a personalized NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL protocol (supplements, probiotics, prebiotics, etc.) based on the real needs of your organism.

The tests can be performed by anyone, at any age, and in any health condition as they are absolutely NON-INVASIVE.

Being totally NON-INVASIVE, all tests can be performed even during pregnancy.

Furthermore, GeneS® has developed specific tests to support the pregnancy journey.

The tests performed by GeneS® are NOT diagnostic. The results of our tests are intended to provide a detailed profile of the biological sample analyzed; this profile can support qualified professionals in planning specific and personalized dietary and/or therapeutic interventions.

Inside the kit, there is an anamnesis form where any drugs/supplements in use at the time of sample collection or recently discontinued must be specified.

For microbiota tests, if you are taking antibiotics, you must wait at least 15 days. Antibiotics significantly compromise all bacterial populations, so the resulting profile would be absolutely incorrect.

In case of occasional intake of medications and supplements, we advise consulting your specialist. In case of uncertainty, it is advisable to wait approximately 2 weeks after the end of the intake of the medication and/or supplement in question.

GeneS® tests can be purchased through the online shop at the following link https://genes4you.it/#analisi or at affiliated facilities and professionals.

All analyses and all products can be purchased with a credit or debit card, including payment in 3 interest-free installments with CLEARPAY.

Yes, a confirmation email is sent at the end of the purchase. We advise checking SPAM as well; sometimes the system mistakenly recognizes GeneS® emails as unwanted mail. The kit is shipped via courier generally within the following 24/48 hours.

Yes, the kit has an expiry date which is indicated on the sample collection kit packaging.

The barcode is used to uniquely identify each individual analysis/sample.

The collected sample can be stored at room temperature for up to 4 weeks. The sample analysis must be carried out within this time.

For salivary hormone analyses, the sample must be stored in the refrigerator and must be processed within 15 days of collection.

The collection is absolutely non-invasive and is carried out using specific devices that facilitate sample collection.

The kit contains instructions that detail the correct procedure for sample collection.

Although it would be better to avoid them, laxatives do not significantly and/or definitively alter the test. However, the subject should record this information in the anamnesis form and keep a record of the laxative used and the dose employed, as well as the type/consistency of the stool emitted thanks to the laxative, because this information could be useful to the professional in charge of interpreting the report for a better understanding of the data.

The collected sample should be placed inside the safety bag for transport. The double packaging with which the test is received can be used for the return shipment. Once the sample is ready for shipment, you must notify GeneS® by sending an email as per the instructions. GeneS® will arrange for FREE collection with an express courier who will transport it to the GeneS® laboratories.

Absolutely NO, as the kits used for collection allow the biological sample to be stored at room temperature for up to 4 weeks.

This is a very rare event, but if the sample is not suitable for analysis, the GeneS® staff will contact you.

You can check the arrival of the sample using the tracking code that is sent to you by email along with the shipping label that GeneS® sends you when you request the collection.

The analysis result is generally ready in 2/4 working weeks, depending on the type of test purchased. The result will be sent to you by email to the address indicated in the forms inside the kit.

In addition to the analysis result of the sample, the GeneS® test results include very valuable targeted suggestions in terms of behavior, diet, and your personalized NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL supplementation program.

The suggestions should not be interpreted as a therapeutic plan but are solely intended to report possible interventions for the correction of specific microbial groups according to the most updated scientific literature.

It is also suggested that they be validated by the reference professional who knows the patient’s clinical history.

It is not mandatory to repeat the test.

ONLY if the analysis result justifies it, the need to repeat the test (or to perform a different type) and after how long will be highlighted in the report.

In this case, the repetition will serve to monitor any improvements in the state of health due to the effect of the personalized pathway suggested.

It will help you take control of your health. With the help of experts, you can find the right dietary, behavioral, and supplementation program for your correct lifestyle. This will help maximize your health and well-being.

Knowing the composition and state of well-being of our microbiota allows us to be proactive in preserving its balance or correcting any conditions of disorder (dysbiosis). A healthy microbiota is, in fact, capable of protecting us or significantly reducing the risk of developing various conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, inflammatory bowel diseases or musculoskeletal diseases, allergies, and many others. Conversely, its alteration can increase the risk of their development.

  • Mild or moderate intestinal or urogenital symptoms (colitis, recurring diarrhea, constipation, cystitis, urethritis, etc.) with a view to preventing progression to actual diseases;
  • Overweight and obesity to integrate nutritional plans aimed at healthy weight management;
  • Different life stages such as Infancy and old age to promote correct bacterial diversity and limit the typical effects of aging such as immune depression and the onset of inflammatory processes in the latter;
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding to support the microbial development of the newborn;
  • During menopause to better cope with metabolic and hormonal changes;
  • For particularly intense or competitive sporting activity, it may be important to know the level of metabolic efficiency of your microbiota also to improve performance by adopting a personalized dietary regimen.

The procedure is very simple. A kit is provided for collecting a fecal sample. The sample is then analyzed using cutting-edge massive sequencing techniques (Next Generation Sequencing) which, through bioinformatic and statistical data processing, allow for the identification of all the bacterial components present. Finally, based on the relative abundances obtained, a complete picture is provided of how the microbial ecosystem can impact our health. The report is normally available within 30 days.
